Senator Cory Booker has entered the Democratic 2020 race for president!
The former mayor of Newark, New Jersey made the announcement on Friday, the first day of Black History Month (right after Kamala Harris’ MLK day announcement), kicking off a campaign to become the second black president in U.S. history.
Booker’s anticipated announcement came with an uplifting, drum-filled video highlighting his vision to build an America where “no one is left behind.” He shared on Twitter:

Seeing as plenty of Democrats have already tossed their name in the primary ring, Booker isn’t wasting any time getting his campaign off the ground. He’s already held a press conference in Newark and given his first TV interview on The View, where the 49-year-old further teased his no American left behind platform.
As expected, Booker’s announcement had plenty of people talking on Twitter. See what some celebs are saying about #Booker2020:

I don’t endorse until later in the game. But this video brought me to tears.

On 100 issues, I agree with @CoryBooker on about 95 of them.
When I have disagreed, and on some things I still do, he has always been willing to talk about, explore it, find common ground.
He’s one of the smartest, most genuine people I’ve ever met.
I’m glad he’s running. https://t.co/wEghqsbaVa

During a commercial break on @TheView today, I asked @CoryBooker where he stood on the #Venezuela situation. His answer: “Maduro has to go.”
I appreciated his direcrness. There is more bipartisanship on this, then some may think.

Would you vote for Booker in the upcoming election?
Before you answer, just think: it could mean Rosario Dawson would be our First Lady.
Okay, now answer.
