TRUMP TWEET: Reacts to arrival of migrant caravan at Texas border

Several migrant caravans, reportedly about 12,000 Central Americans in all, are traveling through Mexico, intent on reaching the U.S. border to request asylum and make “a better life” for themselves in the United States.

The first new wave of migrants reached the U.S. border Monday afternoon, arriving in over 40 buses reportedly arranged by the Mexican government. Instead of going to Tijuana, this group went to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, just across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. The two cities are separated by a river, but reportedly, no border fencing exists in that area. The group is estimated to be about 2,000 people, consisting of approximately 800 women and children and 1,200 men.

President Trump tweeted Tuesday morning:

Tremendous numbers of people are coming up through Mexico in the hopes of flooding our Southern Border. We have sent additional military. We will build a Human Wall if necessary. If we had a real Wall, this would be a non-event!
