A Secret Service officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Tuesday after a crash near the vice president’s residence.

The Secret Service said the wreck occurred at about 11:35 a.m. just outside the Naval Observatory.

The uniformed officer was on a Secret Service motorcycle at the time.

The Washington Post reported that the D.C. fire department said the officer was in serious condition and had a possible leg injury.
