REPORT: 3 killed in casino shooting; suspect killed by police

An overnight shooting Tuesday at a Montana casino left three people dead and another person injured, officials said. The suspect was later tracked down and killed by police.

The article goes on to state the following:

They searched for the shooter for more than three hours until the suspect was found by officers in a residential neighborhood about a mile away. The suspect was fatally shot by officers at about 5:45 a.m, according to the police statement.

The Great Falls Police Department released the following statement:

UPDATE – 26th St S is closed from 7th Ave S to 9th Ave S. This area will remain closed until investigators have processed the area involved in this incident. Lincoln Elementary will be closed today due to the proximity of the incident to the school. The incident did not involve students or school staff. Please avoid this area during your travels today.

We are working closely with the Cascade County Attorneys Office, Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office , and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation on a multiple victim homicide that occurred last night (see attached media release).

There is no threat at this time to the public. If you have information relating to this incident, you can leave tips on Messenger or contact Detective Hedges at GFPD. Victim and suspect names will be released at a later date. We ask that you keep the families of the victims and our first responders in your thoughts and prayers during this incident.
