The conductor of an NJ Transit rail line was just nailed with a harsh punishment after what he did regarding the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It was posted on Twitter that the conductor had warned passengers that there were members of ICE on the train. It possible sent some passengers into a fury as they wondered what was going on and if it was legal for the conductor to interfere with law enforcement by informing possible illegal aliens about who might be looking for them.
It was later reported, by Fox News, that the conductor had allegedly made a false claim that involved ICE and illegal immigrants. Passengers were already sending Tweets to New Jersey’s Governor, Phil Murphy, and Senator Cory Booker. Some passengers were asking why ICE was riding the train and looking for illegals and criminals. With all due respect, why wouldn’t they? Regardless, some people were in support of the possibility that passengers would be made safer with fewer criminals onboard and more law enforcement. Others saw this as inappropriate. Either way, the conductor received a suspension for his allegedly false claims that ICE and Homeland Security were aboard the train when the reality is that they were reportedly not.
Fox News provided more coverage on the incident on NJ Transit:
“A NJ Transit rail conductor has been suspended after allegedly falsely claiming agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security were searching for illegal immigrants aboard a train out of Bayhead to New York early Monday.
Passengers began to tweet at the transportation company, along with New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, Sen. Cory Booker, and other state officials, asking why ICE agents were “riding the train to find illegals and criminals.”
NJ Transit asked riders for more details, and seemingly concluded the agency employee was on a Coast Line Train #3326 out of Bayhead in Ocean County, just before 7 a.m.
In a statement, NJ Transit said it has “taken swift action by immediately suspending, without pay, the crew member who made the alleged train announcement pending the outcome of a full investigation.”
The agency did not identify the conductor but said the employee has been with NJ Transit for more than 30 years.
“NJ Transit will not tolerate such reprehensible conduct which stands in direct contrast with our agency’s culture,” the statement said.
Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., wrote that if ICE agents were actually searching the train, it “would be outrageous racial profiling that is un-American and makes us less safe,” noting that his office “is looking into it.”
The ICE office in Newark confirmed to The Associated Press that no ICE agents were on the train Monday. The spokesperson said agents conduct targeted enforcement of criminals and would have had to have been in pursuit of such a person to board public transportation.”
The conductor on my @NJTRANSIT train just made an announcement that there are ICE agents and homeland security on the train – so I guess we need to be protected from hardworking people on their way to work in the morning? @ACLUNJ @ACLU

The truth of this situation is that the conductor will feel like a fool for several reasons. The first reason is that the conductor made a false claim and now he’s suspended and risks losing a job that he had for over 30 years. Anyone that close to retirement should not meddle around in nonsense that would get them fired just before the end of their career. Another reason that the conductor should feel like a fool is that they played into the liberal games of protecting people who won’t ever care for them or return the favor. If a train conductor announces that ICE is on their way, and gets fired, then how will they ever repay the man when he’s unemployed? Liberals won’t help him out. He would be unemployed collecting welfare on the back of taxpayers, and the liberals wouldn’t care. Perhaps they would see him as a future unemployed protester and potential vote for the Democratic party.
If the conductor can return to their job, then there’s a good chance they won’t alarm passengers ever again. In fact, this might be one more person in favor of Trump’s border wall. The person was left out to dry, and no one on the Democrat side has come to assist the person who just spoke up for them but gets nothing in return. Sounds typical, right?
Was it worth it for them to make a false claim and get suspended from their job? The conductor got nothing in return, so maybe they’ll add a few bricks to the wall.
