Kylie Jenner’s Grandma Gets SHADY About Travis Scott Breakup!

It was a surprise to everyone when Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott announced their split back in October.

Frankly we’re still a little perplexed by the whole thing — all we got was one super vague tweet and zero explanation behind their new decision to be just friends.

Since then, we’ve heard plenty of speculation about the co-parents being on different pages about what they want in life, but nothing quite as telling from a source like this!

In a new interview with The Sun, the KUWTK star’s 93-year-old grandmother, Esther Jenner, revealed why she believes Stormi Webster‘s parents weren’t able to make things work for the time being.

Caitlyn Jenner‘s momma told the outlet she and Kylie catch up regularly and the two discuss everything — from the highs and lows of relationships to the challenges of motherhood:

“Kylie and I keep in touch, we both have iPhones and Facetime. She puts the baby on the FaceTime and I can see her progress, she’s a darling little child.”

Then she dove into the real tea about the 22-year-old’s dating life, adding:

“I was sympathizing with Kylie a short time ago about the breakup with the baby’s father.”

Yep, it turns out Esther was one of the first few family members Kylie confided in about the breakup with Travis, and according to the nonagenarian, her granddaughter initially tried to downplay the situation:

“Kylie just smoothed over it real quickly, [saying] ‘We’re both going to be good parents to her’ like in defense almost.”

Hmm. We can’t help but wonder what else the billionaire beauty mogul was trying to keep under wraps since she couldn’t even be completely honest with her own family. Well, apparently nothing gets by grandma!

The matriarch admitted she feels her granddaughter’s relationship with the Astroworld rapper failed because the Travis didn’t pop the big question!

She explained it takes a real commitment to make a family unit work and gave a very age-appropriate take on the state of young love these days:

“Young people today, they think they can live together, start a family together, without being married, it doesn’t work! I don’t know.”

We have to point out this is a very dated expectation about how modern couples should work…

We mean, maybe they would have tried harder to make it work if they had made their commitment official. OR it might have just been more complicated to break up because it would mean paperwork and legal logistics to sort out while their feelings for each other hang in limbo…

We don’t know if Kylie even agrees with her grandma’s take on the matter, so take it with a grain of salt!

When asked if she’s ever even met Travis, Esther replied:

“I never met him, I tell you who I was surprised I liked so much … Kanye [West]. He’s very intelligent, and he’s down to earth.”

“Down to earth”?? Kanye???? Inneresting…

Then again, he did put a ring on it, so we can’t be too surprised Esther approves. Ha!

As Kylie and Travis, they seem to be very committed to raising their daughter together and a People source notes their bond “seems to be more of a friendship” these days. The fact Ky’s been casually hanging with Drake might have something to do with that part.

Furthermore, the amicable exes reportedly  “talk several times a day” and plan to spend Christmas together in Houston with Travis’ family. This would make sense since the pair just spent Thanksgiving together with the KarJenners in Palm Springs, so, it sounds like the whole co-parenting thing is going according to plan so far.

To anyone still holding out for a reconciliation soon, don’t lose hope! Maybe a big fat diamond ring could be all it takes to make things right again.
