The Democrat-led House of Representatives has held a historic vote Wednesday night, deciding whether to impeach President Donald J. Trump.
They voted to approve at least one article of impeachment against Trump: Abuse of power.
The vote fell along party lines, with 230 for and 197 against article 1. They are still voting on article 2, obstruction of Congress.
Trump becomes the third president in U.S. history to receive the sanction, according to the Washington Post.
From the Post:
At the heart of the Democrats’ case is the allegation that Trump tried to leverage a White House meeting and military aid, sought by Ukraine to combat Russian military aggression, to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch an investigation of former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as well as a probe of an unfounded theory that Kyiv conspired with Democrats to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
Wednesday’s action will lead to a trial in the Republican-led Senate, where a two-thirds vote would be required to remove the president from office.
The House of Representatives debated for 10 hours on Wednesday after weeks of testimony.

DML News App Founder Dennis Michael Lynch weighed in on impeachment, saying Democrats have made a big mistake.
“It’s always been the plan to impeach this present,” Lynch said. “Since the day he started. The news outlets, [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi, they’ve all had one agenda: impeach the president.”
Lynch said Pelosi caved to the pressure of the media and progressive Democrats who were pushing for impeachment, making a “gross” mistake by ignoring the polls and American voices.
“The president’s poll numbers since this impeachment stuff started have gone up,” Lynch said. “The reason they’ve gone up is because of Independents.”
Lynch said Independents don’t care about politics or parties, they care about the safety and security of their families, and they just want someone to get something done in Washington.
“The economy is roaring. We have other problems, but [Democrats] aren’t even remotely trying to solve these problems,” Lynch said. “Stop this impeachment stuff and start fixing the country. And after a while, you can’t blame Trump for it, no matter how much you may want to or like to. This is a Democrat problem.”

This is the weakest, thinnest, most partisan impeachment in American history.
With no crime, no victim, no evidence, no proof, and no agenda for America, House Democrats’ impeachment charade has followed no rules, and adheres to no sense of honor.#ImpeachmentVote
